A group claiming to have its roots in Anonymous wants to turn Robin Hood and steal from commercial banks, using stolen Platinum, AmEx and corporate card details to donate to charities and protest groups.
The offshoot, p0isAnon, says that it is an alliance between Anonymous and a like-minded group, TeaMp0isoN, to donate to charity and the 99 percent.
Dubbed "Operation Robin Hood", the move is to help recent demonstrations and protests across the globe against the bankers.
In a statement, p0isAnon claimed that it is going to return the money to those who have been cheated by the system and hurt by the banks.
It said: "Operation Robin Hood will take credit cards and donate to the 99% as well as various charities around the globe. The banks will be forced to reimburse the people there (sic) money back."
The video claimed that the group had already used credit card data stolen from Bank of America, Chase, and CitiBank and donated thousands to many protests around the world.
"We have donated thousands to the homeless and other charities. Our government has fallen short in many ways," it said.
p0isAnon wants people to move their cash out of commercial banks and into credit unions and has been helping them along the way.
There is no word of the operation on @Anonpress or @Anonyops on Twitter. The video says in its YouTube comments the accounts to follow for the operation are @OpCensorThis_ @_f0rsaken and @_TeaMp0isoN.
