Here comes Synology's new server, the DiskStation DS411, which is a 4-bay NAS piece of equipment Synology claims is a good option for flexible work environments.
Using RAID 5 on Windows Synology cleams the kit can deliver read speeds of 105 MB/sec and write speeds of 47 MB/sec. Under a load it runs at a power level of 27.7 watts, or 13.2 watts when it is hybernating.
The target market is businesses which want a secure way to run data in a secure environment. And why wouldn't you want that?
So Synology's Hybrid RAID SHR, it claims, goes some way to really utilise a disk capacity. It's got security built in like ACL support and HTTPS as you'd expect, as well as a 256-bit AES hardware encryption engine.
As usual for Synology equipment it runs on DiskStation Manager 3.1, which the company boasts makes it easier to do difficult or complicated tasks in an easy to understand way with a decent web-based UI.
