MSI has announced the UK launch of its GX660R high specification media notebook, which it has teamed up with audio specialists Dynaudio in what it says it the "optimum laptop experience," geared toward gaming and media.
Under the bonnet it sports a 1GB GDDR5 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870, supporting DirectX 11 to keep up to date on 3D and HD graphics for gaming. It ships with an Intel Core i7-720QM processor and has 3 Dimm slots with 8GB of DDR3 1333 MHz memory. The GX660R has two 500GB 7200 RPM hard drives configured in RAID 0.
MSI has bunged in its own Cooler Boost technology to get fans spinning quicker than default while keeping them quiet and cool with its ECO technology. The built in Dynaudio speakers are apparently a real treat coupled with the Surround Sensation Ultra PC technology to make surround sound standard for media.
Its screen is a 15.6' FHD TFT with a 1920 x 1080 resolution with included HDMI and D-SUB video outputs built in to make the most of the Blu-ray drive. It weighs 3.5kg and its dimensions are 396 x 269 x 55 mm with a 9 cell battery. MSI's latest ships with other features you'd expect from a high spec laptop including two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an integrated 720P HD webcam, 802.11b/g/N wireless, Bluetooth, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, an expresscard slot and a four in one card reader.
It's available for pre-order at Micro Anvika for £1699. Some spin from MSI and Dynaudio by way of a video is below.
