Lenovo unboxes its Google TV -

Although everyone was expecting LG to unveil the first proper Google TV it looks like Lenovo nicked the limelight at CES and was the first to get one out of the box.

The K91 smart TV comes in 42-inch and 55-inch flavors and it packs LED backlit IPS displays with 3D support and 240hz refresh rate. The OS of choice is Android 4.0, but the TV is based on Qualcomm's 1.5GHz 8060 dual-core processor, not a Marvell chipset.

Lenovo also included a few rather unique features in its first smart TV. It will ship with a 5MP webcam, 3-axis gamepad, remote control with touchpad and Lenovo promises "console quality" gaming.

Well, that is a tad optimistic, but there are plenty of entertaining Android games that could come in handy when there's nothing on the telly. Basically, the K91 is like an oversized all-in-one PC, and Lenovo knows a thing or two about AIOs.

There is no word on prices or launch dates, but the K91 should show up in China before it makes its way to the rest of the world. China looks like it will be one of the few places which can afford a new telly this year.

LG, Samsung and other vendors shouldn't be far behind and we are more than likely to see some further details at CES.
