Ars Technica has a wealth of detail on problems Apple is having with its 27-inch iMac screen.

People are reporting a number of problems including one which ends up with the screen looking yellow.

Ars says that Apple personnel have been given a line on what to say when people complain about this discrepancy. As the units cost over £1,000, people do complain about the defect.

The first line of Apple defence is that customers are told that "slight variations" are normal, says Ars.  If a customer won't be fobbed off with that little white, or yellow lie, they're told that the unit will be replaced within three weeks,
