Updates to this story
Apple is planning to make its first generation of iPads out-of-date in February which will mean all those Christmas presents from wealthy parents will be a waste of cash.
According to DigiTimes, the much awaited iPad II, which contains all the features that the iPad I should have had, but didn't will be in production in late February for an early April 2011 launch.
While it will appear that Apple is sticking two fingers up at its Christmas market, the situation would have been much worse if its original plan had gone ahead.
According to sources for DigiTimes the iPad was supposed to ship in January but there had been a delay in the firmware.
Apple is expecting to sell 600,000 units we guess it must be to those fanboys who are daft enough to junk their original tablets after only a year.
The next generation iPad will come come equipped with a FaceTime camera for video calling and a gyroscope for advanced motion control sensing, much like the iPhone 4.
It is also expected to be thinner than the previous model and have an improved display, and may even include a built-in USB connector. The other one had a USB connection that only linked to Apple gear so it made it useless.
It will not have Flash, of course, which will make it as useful as a chocolate teapot, but then who wants to spend £700 for a keyboardless netbook? Now thanks to Steve Jobs's marketing plans even as gifts they will have limited appeal
I can tell.
Every time I see an article that says -anything- about the Ipad, and if the author doesn't have one, the article is usually derogatory. If it is not, the author -does- have one.
So I guess we know where you stand.
loser loser loser.
so there.
What is bad about the iPad is not so much its concept but the thief/bookie behind/driving the concept and whose duty is to loot emotionally, physically and now, even intellectually - or was it the other way around, ‘fink, ‘fink, whilst remembering that the physical has limits whereas the emotional and the intellectual has no limits other than each other. When all are in the same bed, however, there is no telling what the offsprings will turn out to be, is that not so? The bookie behind the iPad lacks benevolence/Benevolence and benevolence is the heart/spirit/driver behind the living -to enable the truly living within the living-but-dead. How could the living afford the non-living, life, and this zombie even managed to hoodwinked “The White House” into life? Unless they were all the living-but-dead.
Without balance, even a tree will fall, Gravity being the facilitator for Balance, whilst not forgetting that “Intellect” is the backdoor key to [controlling] saviours and intellect lacks memory/the-past - and “Alzheimer” victims lack memory. All illnesses of the nervous system, all, stem from negating the emotional[/heart] in favour of the intellect in extremis. Treating others as the living-dead, oka heartlessness through over-energising the “right” thereby de-energising the “left” and when the “left” is thusly de-energised, energy from “the beyond” will fill that void - how spooky]. “Americans” will be “balanced”/is governed through their electricity, America being “Communicator/Communications/The Voice” of The World/The Cervical. As all know, the nervous system is the elctrical department within the body. Perhaps that is why nervous illnesses is prominent in “America” and it will get worse unless there is introspection, oka conscience. Like it, believe it, agree with it, or not, “The Russians”/The Slavs/The Pituitary are very good at introspection.
For the vast majority of normal people - not geeks obsessed with spec sheets - all that matters is what you can do with the device, how useful it is, how well it works, how much you enjoy using it, etc. - this will not change for 1st gen iPads when iPad 2 is released.
It's a widely known fact of tech advancement and product evolution; it's not an evil plan cooked up by Apple to shaft people. What are they supposed to do? Never evolve a product, wait years before rolling out updated hardware? Sure, some people will feel a bit miffed and get feature envy because they have missed out on the new version, but most just will not care and they will continue to fondle their iPads with pleasure.
I agree that punters should be aware of iPad 2 before splashing out on the 'old' one - but let people make that decision for themselves, don't tell them what to do.
As for flash - it would run like a dog and drain the battery in no time, just as it did on the last two cheap Windows laptops I owned. Native iOS apps cover a lot of what flash does, but much, much better and generally, the web's dependence on flash is starting to change noticeably. For most people, the lack of flash might be an occasional irritation (less so as time goes on) but it's not a total deal breaker for most. For those who absolutely must have flash, you have a choice so get something else!
Where does £700 come from? You can get a great keyboardless netbook for only £430.
Probably more attempting to obtain maximum buck from from a product that already has been superseded. I think that over the past five years, the general attitude of amused tolerance we had for Apple fanbois has changed to annoyed disdain, not helped by the fact of adverts that try to convey a smug superiority for products made up of highly marked up generic components.
