Grey box shifter, Dell claims that it can give Apple a good kicking in the tablets, according to one of its executives.
Dell's chief commercial officer Steve Felice, who has been talking to his best friend Jiminy Cricket, insists that Apple is vulnerable when it comes to tablets and Dell is the outfit to give Jobs' Mob a good seeing to.
Felice said the tablet market was still wide open and while Dell ditched its previous attempt at cracking the global tablet market, the Streak, last year, it is planning to be back with Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating platform.
He told Reuters that Dell was encouraged by the touch capability it is seeing in the beta versions of Windows 8, although Dell might also make Android tablets too.
Dell has a new roadmap for tablets that it will not make public until the second half of the year.
Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard and possibly Nokia are also planning Windows 8 tablets, he pointed out.
Dell has a good relationship with thousands of business customers which would give it an advantage over Apple in getting its kit into the business community. Apple's gadgets are a nightmare for IT departments because they run on different and often insecure systems.
The iPad could also be defeated by providing better processing power and improving typing. People are having to make too many compromises to use one.
This statement is 110% TRUE. Apple's iPad 1, 2 & now 3 are not only Over Hyped, Over Priced but they are "Greatly" lacking in hardware and features.
Yet people still buy these Apple iPad(s) useless peices of hardware. There's many more tablets that are "MUCH" better and cost cheaper, for example, BB's Playbook being one of the best Teblets in the market along with Toshiba and Asus's Tablets standing on there own.
