The man who has steered Intel through the peaks and troughs of outrageous fortunes and misfortunes over the last 20 years has retired, TechEye learned from him today.
George Alfs (55) said that he will spend the last two months working for Intel in Brussells (Bruxelles) before he throws in the towel.
A consummate spinner, Alfs is a big loss for the multinational and begs the question, "Who will replace him?"
Informed sources tell TechEye that the Board of Directors at Intel is already looking beyond the next five years and is contemplating a whole new business direction.
That didn't come from George Alfs. I will miss his dry North American take on what's happening in the IT world. Good luck and best wishes, George!
