1 And it came to pass in 1987 that the father of Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Kun-Hee was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called his eldest son. Lee Maeng-Hee said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. 2 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death. 3 Now I have in my care about $582.35 million worth of shares in Samsung and Samsung Insurance which I want you to have when I snuff it. 4 Now go forth and make me a savory meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. 5 ¶ And when Lee Kun-Hee heard his father spake to Lee Maeng-Hee his son and he saw his brother pop down to the kitchen to maketh a sandwich. He wiped out his packed lunch and went in unto the room of his father. 6 ¶ And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? 7 And Lee Kun-Hee said unto his father, I am Lee Maeng-Hee thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my sandwich, that thy soul may bless me. 8 And the father said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found a sandwich so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God of Tescos did deliver it unto me. 9 And the father said unto Lee Kun-Hee: 10 Therefore God give thee of the shares of Samsung and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of rice and wine: 11 Let the staff serve thee and nations bow down to thee: be thee lord over Samsung, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee. 12 And Lee Kun-Hee saw that the shares were worth a cool $582.35 million for were they not than eight million shares in Samsung Life Insurance and 20 shares in Samsung Electronics? 13 And he hid them under cloaks made from the skins of goats, and under the names of other men who were employees of Samsung. 14 ¶ And it came to pass, as soon as the Father had made an end of blessing Lee Kun-Hee, and Lee Kun-Hee was yet scarce gone out from the presence of his father, that Lee Maeng-Hee, his brother, came in from making his sandwich. 15 And he also had made savory meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's sandwich, that thy soul may bless me. 16 And his father said unto him: Who the feck art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn, Lee Maeng-Hee . 17 And the Father trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? Where is he that hath taken sandwich, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? Yea, and he shall be blessed with the shares of Samsung 18 And when Lee Maeng-Hee heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father. 19 And he said, Thy brother came with subtlety, and hath taken away thy blessing. 20 And he said, my brother hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? 21 And this father answered and said unto Lee Maeng-Hee , Behold, I have made him thy Chairman, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with rice, wine and shares have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? 22 And Lee Maeng-Hee said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Lee Maeng-Hee lifted up his voice, and wept. 23 ¶ And his father answered and said unto him. Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; and by thy the lawyer shalt thou live, and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. 24 And thus it came to pass that Lee Maeng-Hee did sue his brother Lee Kun-Hee for all the shares that his brother had taken. 25. And he told the court that the stocks were supposed to be put in a trust under the name of non-heirs when they should have been apportioned to the heirs according to law. 26. And while the court countethed Lee Kun-Hee was South Korea's richest man in 2010, according to a Forbes Asia list, which estimated his worth at the time at $7.9 billion. Which is pretty good value for a sandwich and an impersonation of thine brother.
