Nasdaq announced that it would pay out $40 million in compensation to investment firms who lost money on Facebook's opening day on the market.
Facebook's launch was marred with technical problems, trading was delayed by about half an hour and some brokers reported that Nasdaq failed to execute orders on time, or provide them with timely feedback.
Nasdaq had previously established a $3 million compensation cap for technical glitches, but due to the scale of the Facebook rollout it had to go around its own rules and offer $40 million.
However, some brokers and punters believe Nasdaq's kind apology and $40 million are nowhere near enough.
Knight Capital told the Sydney Morning Herald that it alone lost $35 million and obviously they are not alone. The Wall Street Journal estimated that total Facebook IPO losses could amount to $100 million and the New York Stock Exchange was quick to fire off a statement critical of Nasdaq, claiming that Nasdaq was practically awarding itself for the glitches and setting a harmful precedent.
Well, by the looks of this captioned Chosen Few ding-dong of another "fine", the threats of zombies sparking alive just might get out of hand, so nada risk - just give the chimps some of their money back and call it, "sincerity", "generoisty", "contrition", and that Night into Day biggy, Shorely Shome Mishtake, Shalom? What is wrong with "people" nowadays, eh, whilst not forgetting that The Stupid are those who are overly-complex whereas The Dumb are those who are overly-simple, leaving a middle/balanced gap for the [real] children [because juveniles 9 to 90 are a reality, Innocence & Wisdom not being of age but of principle], the [real] animals, the [real] vegetables and the real humans to fill and maintain sanity, a true human being the one who realises that he is human because his conscience is intact, there being no real human who would damage another because he imagines, hopes and prays that the damage so unleashed will, somehow, not touch him. Such idiotics-cum-lunatics have obviously not been properly informed and shown by their Grandmother that, "What goes around, comes around". Honestly sweets, it always does if only because death is when you are unable to realise/see Infinity/Reality - much like the wicked posturing according to the principle of, "Don't get caught", as opposed to being guided by, "Don't do it". For the benevolence of Stupidity-dumbness, Complexity is latently Simplicity [and vice-versa] otherwise Complexity will have no meaning much like a zillionaire stuffed to the gills with fabulous wealth being all alone. As all mere billionaires have realised, existence is meaningless until there is something or someone to save. The more Dumb or Stupid the cause, the better the Fame, Fortune & Immortality.
