Huawei has denied that it takes illegal Chinese government subsidies after the EU announced it was thinking about slapping the Chinese telecom equipment makers with an anti-dumping case.
Huawei, the world's No.2 telecom equipment vendor after Sweden's Ericsson told Reuters that it has not received any communication from the European Commission regarding any investigation.
However it denies claims that Huawei employs dumping practices and has benefited from illegal state subsidies.
The company also objects to the investigation that the European Commission is reportedly launching on the basis of these claims.
Relations between China and the EU are as strained as a good cup of Jasmine tea. (please note that the koala tea of Mersey is not strained).
EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht moaned that China subsidises "nearly everything", distorting competition.
Huawei points out that it employs more than 7,000 employees and has indirectly created over 6,000 job opportunities in Europe. In 2011, it bought products and services in Europe totalling over $3.6 billion.
Huawei to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune? Tis a puny thing they do, pandaring to the weak knees of others, wile all the while bamboozaling a broken euro and whilst feisting at China's plate.
Plane and simple, the Chinese are out to shanghai the euro with this irresponsible and wonton behaviour. And what for? A miserly dim sum of profit which was ill-gotten by foisting dumplings practices onto the Euronese. The EU ought to kick 'em right in their chestnuts! I mean, a hot pot hoi polloi is one thing, but a big pile of Dongpo is asking for trouble.
It makes me proud to know the UK is not a party to Europe.
