It seems that Hollywood really has run out of ideas and is going to follow up a flick based on the game Battleships with a movie about an autocratic tech CEO called Steve Jobs.
Ashton Kutcher is apparently going to don the sacred black turtle neck when the movie starts filming in May.
It seems that everyone wants to do a movie about the maker of the second generation Newton.
While Sony is planning a separate biopic about the Apple founder, based on Walter Isaacson's authorised biography. This is a little ironic as the biography details how Jobs screwed the music industry for every last penny.
The Kutcher flick will be an independent biopic and it thinks that it can hit screens first. Penned by Matt Whiteley, it will tell the tale of Steve Jobs' journey from Northern California hippie to the dark satanic force which lowered the standards of he world.
The Hollywood Reporter suggests that "Kutcher is a natural to play Jobs; the resemblance between the two is unmistakable." Having seen the two together, we would think that Jobs would have been flattered.
Apparently the roll of cynical online tech hack who points out flaws in Jobs plans and highlights employment abuses in China will be played by the guy who did Golem in the Lord of the Rings.
